Kathryn Bach, MSOT, Preliminary Findings on the Neurodevelopmental Impact of Prenatal Zika Virus Exposure in Rhesus Macaque Infants, Rome

We have been collaborating with researchers across campus to examine the effects of prenatal Zika virus exposure on infant outcomes in non-human primates.

In September 2019, Kathryn Bach was invited to speak in Rome, Italy in to present our preliminary findings on the neurodevelopmental impact of congenital Zika virus exposure in rhesus macaques. Kathryn was awarded a highly competitive student travel award through the European Primate Veterinarian Association to attend the annual meeting where researchers from around the world gather to discuss neuroscientific research involving non-human primates.
